Installation Guidelines

We’ve designed our Metal Top Hat Battens to ensure seamless integration with any industrial systems. They offer ease of installation across various materials and sizes. Below are the key specifications for installation based on the type of building material:

  • Timber: Fasten the batten to each truss or rafter using a 12 x 40mm timber fixing screw (minimum size) through each flange.
  • Steel: Secure the batten to each truss or rafter using a M5.5 x 40mm batten zip (minimum size) through each flange.
  • Roof Sheets: Attach the roof sheets to the battens as specified in the roofing instructions.
  • Ridges: Fix through the ridge capping into the batten using the appropriate screws.
  • Lapping Battens: To reduce cutting, lay the battens in one direction starting from one end of the roof. The overlap must be supported over a truss or rafter, with a minimum overlap of 100mm.
